How to reconcile tourism of mass and preservation of the environment? On this long Ascension weekend, Thursday May 26, the question arises for all the fragile natural sites, from the Dune du Pila to the Island of Port Cro. From June 26, reservations will be required to access one of the most beautiful coves in the Calanques National Park in the Bouches-du-Rhône.

Rocky cliffs that plunge into crystal clear waters. At the gates of Marseille, a majestic setting that has to be earned. Accessible by sea or by a single path. The place is very popular by vacationers. However, the site is deteriorating and holidaymakers are even settling in the protected areas. Eco-guards must stand guard. Biodiversity is in danger, whether for plants or trees.

Patrols no longer seem to be enough. The national park takes a unique decision in France: access to the creek of Suggestionone of the busiest, will only be by online reservation. Limited to 400 people per day instead of 2,500 on some summer days. It will be impossible to get there without a pass.If a person is in violation, because it constitutes an offense not to have their reservation, there is a fine of 68 euros“, specifies Zacharie Bruyascommunications officer for the Calanques National Park. The device will be tested on the weekend of June 26 and July 3 and during the summer, before perhaps being made permanent.
