On August 4, 2023, actor Marwan Berreni was reported missing after allegedly knocking down a young woman leaving a nightclub. After a long investigation lasting several months, the body of the star of the series Plus belle la vie was finally found in an abandoned house on October 13, in the town of Corcelles-en-Beaujolais, in the Rhône.
Subsequently, we discovered that Marwan Berreni, very worried after mowing down the pedestrian, decided to flee. If his phone and bank card had been used one last time the day after the accident, the actor would have finally decided to take his own life, unable to cope with his accidental action.
Just a month and a half after this sordid discovery, the W9 channel devoted a documentary to Marwan Berreni. The report was in fact broadcast this Wednesday, December 6, 2023 and viewers were thus able to discover the testimony of a couple who saw the actor “More beautiful life” the day after his disappearance.”We are on this road and at the bend of a dirt road which comes out, between vineyards and fields, I see the character” remembers Jean-Luc Chapuis. “Did you see? It’s Abdel from “Plus belle la vie” remembers his wife Aurélie. “I’m a fan. I knew he lived in Fuissé, a few kilometers from us. And on our small country roads, you don’t expect to see a great actor” she adds. The couple describes a tired, bearded man, dressed somewhat in summer evening wear. The couple may have encountered Marwan Berreni the same day he killed himself. “He had his head a little down. We asked ourselves the question of why he was walking through the vineyard. I couldn’t imagine it at all. I regret it a little because with what he has passed, I carry a lot of guilt. I tell myself that I could have stopped and maybe I could have seen that he was hurt and that he needed help. Maybe that we would have found him and we could have saved him” saddens Aurélie Chapuis.
A report that sparks controversy
But this report is far from unanimous among the actor’s entourage. One of his companions, the actress Coline d’Inca, uttered a rant as we can discover on X (formerly Twitter). “While Marwan BERRENI would have turned 35 this December 4, a report broadcast this evening on W9 is criticized by those close to him, in particular Coline d’Inca: “It’s a shame. Parents and family asked for silence, respect and time. They refused, like all those close to Marwan, to participate in this pseudo-investigation, but the M6 group jump in with both feet in this story to create buzz” can we read.
