US President Joe Biden welcomed on Wednesday November 9 a “good day for democracy” the day after the midterm elections where the Democrats resisted better than expected against the Republicans. “We had an election yesterday. And it was a good day, I think, for democracy”said the Democratic president during a press conference at the White House welcoming a ballot that took place “apparently without interference”.

“While the press and pundits were predicting a giant red wave, it didn’t happen”he added while acknowledging “frustration” many voters in the face of inflation in particular. US President Joe Biden also reiterated on Wednesday “intend” to run for a second term in 2024, but will confirm it “early next year”. “My intention is to represent myself”said the Democratic leader during a press conference, specifying that it was however a “family decision”.

Joe Biden also acknowledged that“there are still many people who suffer”. “Voters spoke clearly about their concerns, rising prices…and the need to bring inflation down”he said, also mentioning concerns about “Crime and Security”all of which Republicans have campaigned hard on.
