A new fraud repression investigation targets co-ownership trustees. 65% of checks confirm malfunctions.

Of the 236 trustees inspected last year by fraud repression, 65% were found to be abnormal, with 77 warnings for abusive invoicing, excessive prices or overtime increases. “We should not generalize, but unfortunately we see that a majority of trustees are in this practice”, describes Émile Hagège, director general of the ARC. In a subdivision of houses in the Lyon suburbs, a co-owner takes on the role of voluntary trustee. Since last month, a law has made it easier for co-owners to separate from their trustee.
