“We demand that transparency be total for all parties”, said Saturday, September 24 on franceinfo Julien Odoul, deputy National Rally of Yonne, member of the Committee for Cultural Affairs and Education. The National Rally, accused by its opponents of the majority of depending on Russian power, counter-attacked this Friday by proposing a commission of inquiry to the Assembly on foreign funding of all parties, with Renaissance in its sights.
“The majority makes a point of casting criticism without any basis, of attacking the opposition parties, in particular the National Rally, on presumed links with Russia. So yes, we want transparency, total transparency.”

Many commissions of inquiry have already taken place, in particular that of the Senate. “We look at the work that is done by each other”, continues Julien Odoul giving as an example, “the financial prosecutor’s office which took up the General Electric affair”. The unions that have filed a complaint suspect the multinational of having organized a system to send more than 500 million euros to tax havens.
This new commission of inquiry, demanded by the RN, “will make it possible to show the French the perhaps ambiguous links between certain political leaders of the majority and the Islamic dictatorship of Qatar, between certain political leaders of the majority and Beijing, the extremely ambiguous links between the presidential party and foreign private firms of advice”, insisted Julien Odoul.
The National Rally has already been the subject of attacks concerning, in particular, its links with Russia. “We must be very clear, it was not Marine Le Pen who welcomed Vladimir Poutine with great fanfare to Versailles in 2018, it was Emmanuel Macron. It was not Marine Le Pen who built the gas pipeline between Germany and Russia. The links between Europe and Russia were not built by Marine Le Pen.” replied Julien Odoul.
“This commission of inquiry will shed light on everything. The Renaissance party will have to show its credentials and the French will see”concludes the deputy.
