Michael Jackson died on June 25, 2009. It was therefore necessary to wait more than 15 years after his death for a biopic to be announced. As BFMTV revealed this Thursday, January 11, 2024, the film “Michael” inspired by the life of the king of pop, will be released on April 18, 2025 in the United States. Produced by Lionsgate and distributed by Universal Studios, the biopic will be directed by Antoine Fuqua, director of the saga The Equalizer or even Seven Mercenaries (2016).And while fans were worried about who was going to play Michael Jackson, we learned that it was his nephew, Jaafar Jackson, who was chosen to play the main role. The 27-year-old young man who is none other than the son of Jermaine Jackson, who is the brother of Michael Jackson, spoke on social networks and declared “being honored” to play his uncle.
Born on July 25, 1996, Jaafar Jackson has two brothers namely Donte, adopted in 1992, and Jermajesty, born in 2000 and his mother is Alejandra Genevieve Oaziaza. The young man also has several half-sisters and half-brothers. First those born from his father’s previous marriage to Hazel Gordy: Jermaine Lu Juane, Autumn Joy and Jaimy. Then those born from Jermaine Jackson’s affair with Margaret Maldonado, from whom he separated a year before his birth: Jeremy and Jourdynn.
Like all the talented members of his family, he was immersed in the world of music since his childhood and became a singer-songwriter and dancer at the age of 12. In 2019, he released his first single titled Got Me Singing. The title is inspired by Caribbean music and has more than eight million views on Youtube.
We recall that the feature film is produced by Graham King, already at the helm of Bohemian Rhapsody, a Queen biopic which was criticized for revealing the unbridled sexuality of Freddie Mercury.
