A former relative of a fraudster who had infiltrated Donald Trump’s entourage in his estate at Mar-a-Lago was shot on Friday afternoon near the popular Estérel hotel complex, in the Laurentians.

Valeriy Tarasenko, a Russian speaker of Ukrainian origin, reportedly suffered serious injuries after being hit by at least one projectile in the hip shortly before 1 p.m., according to information obtained by our Investigation Office.
There would be no fear for the life of the 44-year-old man, who was taken to hospital.

The vehicle of the victim, Valeriy Tarasenko, was found in the parking lot of the Estérel hotel complex on Friday afternoon.
According to the mayor of L’Estérel, Frank Pappas, images from surveillance cameras show the victim getting into a vehicle leaving the scene.
Moments later, Tarasenko would reappear on foot in surveillance camera footage. Injured, he went to the complex, of which he was not a client, to seek help.
For their part, the suspect or suspects would have fled in a vehicle. No arrests have been made in the case.

The case made headlines when American media revealed that the 33-year-old woman had managed to infiltrate the entourage of the former American president at his residence in Mar-a-Lago, Florida. She posed as a wealthy heiress of the Rothschild dynasty.
Stormy relationship

In mid-September, the young woman said in an interview with New York Post that she was the victim of a smear campaign by Tarasenko.
