The emotion is strong in the 54th artillery regiment of Hyères (Var), where officiated Brigadier Alexandre Martin, killed in Mali on Saturday January 22, as Théo Souman explains, live from the battalion.
The emotion is very strong in Hyères, on the site of the 54th artillery regiment. “The announcement of the death of young brigadier Alexandre Martin, aged 24, plunged his brothers in arms into deep sadness”, indicates Théo Souman live from the battalion. They are a thousand to compose this regiment, but few are there on Sunday. “Alexandre Martin’s unit, the 4th battery, about 130 men, is currently deployed in the Central African Republic, but has been made aware of the brigadier’s disappearance”, underlines the journalist.
An aid cell has been set up to help the family, relatives of Alexandre Martin and all the soldiers of the regiment who may need it. “A tribute ceremony, which remains to be specified, will be held on the Hyères site in the coming days”, concludes Theo Souman.
