A derby to finish. At the conclusion of the 36th day of Ligue 1, the Canaries receive Rennes, fourth in the standings, Wednesday May 11. The Rouge et Noir would return to the podium if they win. The formation coached by Bruno Genesio remains on two successes in the championship (2-0 against Saint-Etienne and 5-0 against Lorient) and presents itself at La Beaujoire as the second best attack in the championship.
The Nantes (9th) find them their public with a new trophy under their arm: a Coupe de France won against OGC Nice on Saturday. By beating the Rennais, the men of Antoine Kombouaré, already qualified for the next Europa League, would play the spoilsports in the race for the podium, to the detriment of their rivals in the West. They would also take their revenge on a formation which won their previous confrontation (1-0), during the 3rd day of the championship.
