The Lille Academy announced, Wednesday, June 7, the filing of a complaint after “insults” and “threat” against the staff at the college where Lindsay was studying. This 13-year-old girl, victim of school harassment, committed suicide on May 12 in Pas-de-Calais. “The rector condemns in the strongest terms the insults, intimidation, calls for hatred, serious threats and failure to respect the right to the image to which the staff of the establishment are subject”declares the rectorate.

“These personnel benefit from the support and protection of the State because of their functions. In this sense, a complaint has been filed”he adds. “Threats against them are unacceptable and do not contribute in any way to the fight against this scourge” school bullying, he insists.

Reinforced security around the establishment

The rectorate refused to provide any details on the nature of the facts concerned by this complaint. Security around the establishment in question, the Bracke-Desrousseaux college in Vendin-le-Vieil (Pas-de-Calais), has been reinforced.

Lindsay’s mother and stepfather said they would meet Brigitte Macron, involved in the harassment issue, on Wednesday. The girl’s family say they have not received “no support” dealing with the bullying of their child. She filed a complaint against the establishment, the rectorate, the police and Facebook.
