The record for the longest caterpillar in the world was beaten on Monday evening June 12, with 3,940 participants during the Rouen Armada, indicates France Bleu Normandie (Seine-Maritime, Eure). Bailiffs counted the dancers to validate the record. The participants met from 6 p.m. on the Saint-Gervais esplanade in Rouen.
The participants, often disguised or made up, danced to the song of the Bande à Basile. With family or friends, they largely broke the record held by Bretons, established during the Art Rock festival in Saint-Brieuc, in June 2022, with 1,338 dancers.
