Health: the rebirth of a couple who suffered a stroke

Louis and Elise met when they had each just had a stroke and had lost part of the use of their bodies. Together, they rebuilt themselves and had a child.
When she had her stroke in 2017, Elise Mathy lost the use of the left side of her body. Six months after the accident, she met Louis, who had also just suffered a stroke and had lost the use of the right side of his body at only 24 years old. Pregnant, Elise feared for her child. To hope to regain the use of her left arm, she undergoes two hours of rehabilitation every day. For his part, Louis chose to re-educate his language, since the stroke had cut him off.
Everyone went back to work after the baby
When their child was born, with one right hand and one left hand for two, the couple worked hand in hand to care for the baby. Louis and Elise each returned to their jobs. “It’s not the work that stresses me out, it’s the fatigue that I have to manage. It’s the most complicated, even six and a half years after the stroke”, explains Elise. She has since become a doctor.
