The elected representative of Bouches-du-Rhône “firmly denies all the false accusations” against him, and affirms that he is the real victim of this violence, which occurred within the framework of the opposition movement to the pension reform.
The LFI-Nupes deputy for the 7th district of Bouches-du-Rhône, Sébastien Delogu, has been targeted since Friday March 10 by two complaints for violence on the sidelines of the blocking of the Saint-Exupéry high school, in the 15th arrondissement of Marseille, learned franceinfo with the public prosecutor’s office. Sébastien Delogu writes in a press release that he was the victim of violence, and that he is in turn considering legal action.
The Marseille public prosecutor’s office has in any case opened an investigation, for “willful violence by a person in charge of a public service mission on staff working in a school education establishment, near a school education establishment, having led total incapacity for work (ITT) not exceeding eight days”.
Two opposing versions
The two complaints against the deputy come from the deputy headmaster and the principal education adviser (CPE) of the high school. The facts took place on Friday March 10 around 7 a.m., at the entrance to the school located in the northern districts of Marseille. “Several high school students were trying to block the establishment as part of the protests against the pension reform”explains the prosecution in a press release.
According to the first elements of the investigation, entrusted to the Departmental Security, Sébastien Delogu intervened while the police were trying to avoid the blockage, in the process of setting up. Contacted by franceinfo, the rectorate of Aix-Marseille affirms that the elected official was recognizable by his tricolor scarf, and that he had a “violent behavior” : the deputy of the 7th constituency of Bouches-du-Rhône is accused of having kicked the deputy headmaster, as well as a CPE who was trying to free the entrance to the establishment.
This version given by the complainants is disputed by several unions. The latter affirm in a joint press release that it is, on the contrary, the police and the principal who are at the origin of the acts of violence.
Two complaints filed against the elected
Sébastien Delogu also denies these accusations. “While all the high school students demonstrated peacefully, the members of the management showed themselves to be more and more hostile towards the young people”says the deputy in a press release. “In a crowd movement, I saw a high school student belted and violently put on the ground by a member of the management. I intervened, accompanied by comrades from the local CGT union, in order to protect the physical integrity of the high school students present, and to prevent any form of one-upmanship”.
Sebastien Delogu “strongly denies all false accusations that may be made” from his view. “I add, with the support of dozens of witnesses, that I myself was physically attacked by a member of the management”. The deputy “reserves the right” to file a complaint.
