Confidence, then the cold shower. Gathered at Diane’s bar in old Nice, about fifty militants and sympathizers of France Insoumise sing then at 8 p.m., the estimates fall: their candidate, Jean-Luc Mélenchon, is not qualified for the second round.
They don’t want to believe it. _“Oh no it’s not true, but it’s not true!”exclaims Alexis, a young activist. Beside him, Marc, who plague against another candidate : the communist Fabien Roussel. “We can see that we should have joined forces, but a long time ago, it’s something that should have been built, for at least a year” _
Paul lets a few tears flow: he gave his heart and soul for the France Insoumise campaign, failure is hard to accept. “There is a lot of disappointment, sadness, for the result but especially for France. I think of all those who will suffer”.
And then comes the candidate’s speech. Words that put smiles back on the faces of those present: “It remotivates, he gave his life, and you heard the fight continues, it’s up to us to continue, to do better”
