There has been shock in Arras since the announcement, Friday October 13, of the death of Dominique Bernard, French teacher at the Gambetta high school. The emotion is particularly intense among the students.

Accompanied by their parents, some recount the shock and emotion faced with the death of their French teacher, brutally killed. “It’s horrible what happened. In fact, we didn’t expect that,” confides, moved, a student. A high school student remembers the teacher he had in class a few years ago. “He was nice, he didn’t get angry easily. It was nice“, he said.
“I am outraged, I am shocked”
Many struggle with how a former student could kill a teacher and injure two of his colleagues. “I’m outraged, I’m shocked, I don’t even know why these gentlemen, why do this to them,” one of them asks. The professor, an associate professor of French, was around fifty years old and a father. He spent a large part of his career in Arras (Pas-de-Calais).
