The reaction of Benjamin Leroy, voted Best Goalkeeper in Ligue 2

The party continues for theTO THAT, two days after his promotion to League 1. After the party on Saturday evening, the farandole with the supporters in town on Sunday, this Monday, the team and the staff are received at the town hall of Ajaccio.

And in addition to an armchair for Ligue 1, the ACA team obtained a trophy. Sunday evening, during the UNFP Trophies ceremony, the votes designated Benjamin Leroy as the best goalkeeper for the 2021-2022 season.

The ACA goal defied statistics all season: in addition to the 19 goals conceded only for the club, Leroy managed 20 games without conceding, out of the 23 made, the 3 others being those played by François-Joseph Sollacaro, his luxury replacement who played the last match against Toulouse.

The ACA also had its coach Olivier Pantaloni, nominated in the category of the best coaches of L2but it was his Toulouse FC counterpart Philippe Montanier who won.

Last night, there was a new reason to rejoice, and RCFM was present through our best bulwark of sports, Jean Pruneta.

“We are at 23 “clean sheets” (games without taking a goal editor’s note) this season, it is the work of an entire team. I have a thought for all my teammates”.

Nominated for his part, Olivier Pantalonihis coach, unfortunately failed to win the trophy for best coach. Philippe Montanier, Toulouse FC coach and Ligue 2 champion, is the lucky one.

“I would have liked it to be him, because with the means we have, we have been on the podium three times in six years, it’s incredible regularity. […] He is a very human, passionate person, we feel that he is behind us. When I say we all deserve it, of course he’s a part of it too.”
