Meuse: the rare shot of a wild wolf
Meuse: the rare shot of a wild wolf
(FRANCE 2)

Saturday May 11, in the south of the Meuse, a wolf was photographed just 30 meters away by Alexis Vautrin, a wildlife enthusiast, who came across this animal by chance.

The wolf stares at a photographer, surprised between the edge of the forest and a field of rapeseed. This video was made in the south of the Meuse, Saturday May 11, by Alexis Vautrin, a wildlife enthusiast who got lucky. It was while trying to photograph the king of the forest and the wild boars that he came across the wolf by chance. Until now, the only images he had managed to take of the large canine were using automatic cameras.

“I have friends who are looking for wolves, they can go years without seeing one. It’s still impressive to come across one like that”, confides Alexis Vautrin. The wolf has been present in the Meuse since October 2013, particularly in the south of the department. This is the first time that this animal has been photographed directly by an observer at a distance of barely 30 meters.
