The Raptors have the upper hand over the Sixers

(Philadelphia) Gary Trent Jr. and Fred VanVleet scored on three-pointers with 1:10 remaining in the final quarter to allow the Toronto Raptors to beat the 76sers of Philadelphia, 115-109 Thursday night.

VanVleet had six three-point baskets and scored a total of 32 points, and Trent added 20 to help the Raptors in the victory,

Philadelphia was playing without Joel Embiid, Isaiah Joe and Matisse Thybulle who are still on the NBA’s COVID-19 protocol list.

Seth Curry returned to the game after a foot injury and Tobias Harris scored 19 points on his return from a six-game absence after testing positive for COVID-19.

Tyrese Maxey scored 33 points for the Sixers who have lost three straight games.

Andre Drummond had given the Sixers a 109-107 lead with 1:44 left in the game, he then blocked a shot on the next possession, lifting the crowd.

Trent, however, had a three-point shot with 1:10 remaining, which gave the Raptors the lead.

OG Anunoby scored 20 points in the victory.

The Raptors will return home on Saturday to face the Detroit Pistons.
