On July 22, the rapper SCH performs at the Vélodrome stadium in Marseille, a consecration for the artist who grew up in the northern districts of the city.
The Marseille rapper SCH, real name Julien Schwarzer, will perform at the Stade Vélodrome on July 22. A consecration for the 30 year old rapper vsknown for titles like A7 Or Otto which have made him one of the most listened to French artists on streaming platforms. His latest mixtape released last November, Autobansold more than 16,000 copies in the space of three days.
Even if the Marseillais have already seen him on stage several times, notably in the Salle du Dôme, SCH intends to make an impression for this concert at the Vélodrome, which sounds like an apotheosis. Last year, it was his colleague and friend, JUL, who arrived by air on a scooter, who caused a sensation in the Marseille stadium.
“I will be heard even in the northern districts”
“It’s the heart of Marseille, tell yourself that I’m going to sing for 2h30 in the heart of Marseille and that people will hear me even in the northern districts, pFor me, it’s the best reward I can have, and then it’s home“, he confides, enthusiastic.
A modest artist for a great success
SCH debuted in 2015 with the mixtape A7. Six albums later, the Marseillais, modest and reserved, still retains this desire to write and please his audience. “I always want to want to prove to people that I’m not that bad and that’s what makes me want to surpass myself on each project. I don’t consider myself an elder yet and will stop before I consider myself an elder“, he jokes.

His evolution in the sphere of Marseille rappers also contributed to his musical identity, with songs like Organized gang, made with other big names in rap, Jul and Soso Maness. A success of Marseille rap that makes him proud: “We don’t telescope at all with Jul in the sense that we don’t provide the same music at all, so I never felt in his shadow. And I’ve always felt contemplative of his success and then it’s good to say that the number one record seller is from Marseille.”
For more than a year, SCH has been working on his next album JVLIVS III. The release date is not yet known. His last album JVLIVS IIreleased in 2021, was certified triple platinum.
