On Wednesday, September 14, Queen Elizabeth II’s coffin will go on display in London, UK. Journalist Ambroise Bouleis explains how the city is preparing for this event.
The coffin of Elizabeth II will be exhibited in London (United Kingdom) from Wednesday September 14 until Monday September 19, the day of the Queen’s funeral. “We expect more than 750,000 people, according to the newspaper the “Times”, while the maximum capacity is estimated at half as much, during the five days of exhibition of the coffin”, indicates Ambroise Bouleis, live from London (United Kingdom), Tuesday, September 13. In Edinburgh (Scotland), already 33,000 people had come to pray near the coffin in 24 hours.
An exceptional device is planned with a queue of 8 km. “10,000 police officers mobilized, some of them in civilian clothes, ready to mingle with the crowd. Churches, restaurants and cafes along the route have already been asked to open 24 hours a day”, continues the journalist. The queue should quickly lengthen, Tuesday evening, September 13, while the authorities recall that it is forbidden to camp.
