The Council of Ministers issued two decrees on Wednesday afternoon authorizing the City to undertake the work, confirmed Ministers François Bonnardel and Geneviève Guilbault.

For more than a week, the CAQ government had been engaged in a showdown with Mayor Bruno Marchand.

François Legault had hinted that he was going to demand better social acceptability before authorizing the project.

Finally, the decree does not impose any threshold of social acceptability, assured Mr. Bonnardel.
