The Quebec series “L’air d’aller” victorious at the Cannes Series Festival

The Quebec series seem to go won the Student Prize for Best Short Series at the Cannes Series Festival (Canneseries) on Wednesday.

The production of Urbania, written by Jean-Christophe Réhel and directed by Sarah Pellerin, follows the tribulations of four young adults with cystic fibrosis who seek to enjoy every moment of life.

It stars Catherine St-Laurent, Antoine Olivier Pilon, Joakim Robillard and Noémie Leduc-Vaudry.

The Quebec offering stood out among ten finalists, including the Canadian series Rivers are born from rivers.

The jury for the Short series category was chaired by Javier Ambrossi and Javier Calvo, who run the production company Suma Content and have produced several award-winning series. The Franco-Swiss comedian and actress Marina Rollman, as well as the Italian actress Simona Tobasco, were also among the panel of jurors, which also included a dozen students.

Canneseries is in its fifth year. This festival, which celebrates the best of series around the world, took place from April 14 to 19 in France.
