Education: the puzzle of the end-of-year stages for second-year students
(France 2)
In November, Gabriel Attal, then Minister of National Education, launched a sequence for second year students: two weeks of internship in June. For the latter, like principals and businesses, the contours are still vague.
Finding a two-week internship in a company in June is the mission of these second-year students from the Jean-Monnet high school in Montpellier (Hérault). Today, many are worried, because their internship begins in less than three months. “There is a little pressure, because we were warned not very long ago“, confides Sarah Brovis, a student.
A certain vagueness
The observation course is a novelty launched by the government for the 560,000 general and technological secondary school students. In the office of Noël Cabrera, the principal, questions have not yet been answered. “We are currently thinking about how to reinvest this internship in the student’s future training, and we are considering what documents we may require”he explains.
A certain vagueness pointed out by a representative of parents of students. “Are we passing it on to businesses to occupy the children we no longer know how to accommodate?”, he asks himself. Companies may also not be able to accommodate everyone.
