A golden opportunity. Following Japan’s victory against Samoa, Argentina still has the cards in hand. Eliminated in the first round four years ago, this time she hopes to make it to the group stage of the World Cup. Argentina faces Chile on Saturday September 30 at 3 p.m. This is the first opposition between two South American teams in a World Cup. Argentinians and Chileans will meet at the Beaujoire stadium in Nantes.
Beaten by England (27-10), then victorious against Samoa (19-10), the Pumas have no room for error against a team which has not yet collected points since the start of the tournament. Chile lost to Samoa (43-10), England (71-0) and Japan (42-12). Argentina would be well inspired to win the offensive bonus to come back to Japan, before a real round of 16 between the two teams, on October 8.
