The PS presents its battle plan in Indre to support Anne Hidalgo

The campaign of the PS candidate, Anne Hidalgo, is structured in Indre. Its departmental support committee is officially launching, with several actions planned for the coming months. A health forum is so organized at the White this Tuesday January 25. Citizens and health professionals are called upon to debate, particularly around the candidate’s proposals.

A campaign in line with the territory

Anne Hidalgo’s support committee in Indre plans to decline the program of the PS candidate, in line with local issues. Particular emphasis will therefore be placed on medical deserts, and how to combat this phenomenon. The campaign program thus provides for “equal access to care throughout France”. The social aspect is also underlined by the committee: Anne Hidalgo proposes an increase in the minimum wage of 200 euros per month, an increase in teachers’ salaries, or even a “housing shield” which plans to limit the cost of rent to a third of the income of ‘a home.

The candidate’s program contains a total of 70 measurements; it will be distributed in markets and in mailboxes by 190 Socialist Party activists in Indre.

Difficult beginnings for Anne Hidalgo

The support committee for Anne Hidalgo is officially launching when the campaign has already started at the national level, and the Socialist Party candidate is currently struggling to seduce. It remains below 5% of voting intentions in the various polls, and the popular primary organized on the left – without the participation of the most famous candidates – could overshadow him. “It’s a dead end, which can lead or even worse to one more candidacy, that of Christiane Taubira [la seule “tête d’affiche” qui affirme qu’elle se soumettra au résultat de la primaire populaire], therefore to sow even more confusion than clarification with left-wing voters” regrets Clément Sapin, elected municipal official in Argenton-sur-Creuse, and referent of the support committee for Anne Hidalgo in Indre. The latter recognizes that it will be difficult not to take into account the result of what he prefers to call “a consultation“; while specifying that this will not make it possible to unite the forces on the left. No question a priori for Anne Hidalgo to withdraw.

The legislative candidates presented in February

Following the presidential election, legislative elections will take place in June. The names of the candidates in Indre will be revealed in mid-February, after a vote by activists. The first federal secretary of the PS in Indre, Delphine Chambonneau, refuses for the moment to give the identity of the suitors, by simply specifying that there will be “parity. A woman in one constituency, and a man in the other“.
