In view of the June 2022 legislative elections, the PS and LFI have reached an agreement in principle. Journalist Hugo Capelli, live from the National Council of the PS, explains why this meeting is important, Wednesday, May 4.
“The next few hours promise to be very turbulent internally”, explains journalist Hugo Capelli, live from the National Council of the Socialist Party (PS), in Ivry-sur-Seine (Val-de-Marne), Wednesday, May 4. The National Council of the PS must decide, Thursday, May 5, if it votes for or against the agreement between the PS and the Insoumis for the legislative elections. “Party figures such as former ministers will push to the end so that there is no agreement”continues the journalist.
Among the points of divergence are the division of constituencies or the program of Jean-Luc Mélenchon, in particular on the European question. The PS expects a rebellion and the policies are divided. “Some even prefer to leave him, like former Prime Minister Bernard Cazeneuve. Not enough to destabilize the current leadership of the PS, which says to be rather serene this evening”concludes Hugo Capelli.
