France is not the only country in Europe to be affected by farmers’ discontent. Protest movements are also present in Germany, the Netherlands, Poland and Romania.
It is an anger that resonates almost everywhere in the European Union, that of farmers. Less than five months before the European elections, the stakes are explosive. Last Thursday, Romanian farmers protested against unfair competition from Ukraine, which they accuse of undercutting the price of their cereals. Same exasperation in Poland, Hungary, Slovakia and Bulgaria.
