Prosecutor Xavier Bonhomme attached to his announcement a screenshot of a message that was broadcast. This is a photo of the truck that killed dozens of people on the Promenade des Anglais, with the mention “Nissa shit, 80 missing fachos”.

The mayor of Nice Christian Estrosi had announced to take legal action on this subject as of Sunday evening, denouncing “despicable messages”. The association of victims Life for Nice had also announced to seize the prosecutor the next day.

The trial of the Nice attack opens on September 5 before the special assize court in Paris, until November 15. Eight people will be judged, including three for “criminal terrorist conspiracy”. The driver of the truck was killed the evening of the attack.
