The 16-year-old boy and girl initially appeared for the murder of the schoolgirl, beaten and drowned in the Seine in March 2021 in Argenteuil, but after four days of trial behind closed doors, the court decided to reclassify the facts as “murder of a 15-year-old minor”, without retaining the premeditated nature of the facts.
“It does not appear sufficiently characterized elements” proving the will “preparatory acts” in view of the girl’s death, even though the teenagers had “mindfulness” of his distress, had estimated the president of the court.
The sentence Thursday evening was greeted with incomprehension and anger by the civil parties and their many supporters. “It’s not normal, I was expecting something from the law.
