The progression of COVID-19 continues in Quebec with 1,628 more cases

Quebec reports 1,628 new cases of COVID-19 and three additional deaths on Monday.

Of the new cases, 777 were unvaccinated or had only received a single dose less than 14 days ago, 29 had only received a single dose at least 14 days ago and 822 had received a second dose at least seven days ago.

The province’s death toll is now 467,609 people infected and 11,611 deaths since the start of the pandemic.

268 hospitalizations were reported Monday, an increase of six compared to the day before. Of these patients, 73 are in intensive care, an increase of five.

Thirty people entered the hospital on Sunday. Of these, 11 were not vaccinated or had received only one dose less than 14 days ago and 19 had received a second dose at least seven days ago. Of nine patients who entered intensive care, three were unvaccinated or had only received a single dose less than 14 days ago and six had received a second dose at least seven days ago.

A total of 34,408 samples were taken on December 11.

As for vaccination, 24,009 doses were administered in the last 24 hours.

According to the National Institute of Public Health of Quebec, 83.3% of the population has received at least one dose of vaccine against COVID-19. Among those 12 years of age and over, 91.4% have received at least one dose and 89.2% are adequately vaccinated.
