The programming of Vues d’Afrique unveiled

The Vues d’Afrique International Film Festival will be presented in a hybrid version this year: 12 feature films will be broadcast on the tv5unis.ca platform, from March 26 to 31, and 118 films will be programmed at the Cinémathèque québécoise, from March 1er to April 10.

It’s the movie High and loudby Franco-Moroccan director Nabil Ayouch, who will open the 38and edition of the festival, the 1er April. Twist in Bamako, the most recent work by Robert Guédiguian, Green lung and red carpet by Luc Marescot and Sankara by Yohan Malka will also be part of the competition.

In theaters, 92 short films, 8 medium-length films and 18 feature films will be presented. These works come from 44 countries. During a press conference on Tuesday morning, the organizers of the event pointed out that 30% of the films are made by women, which meets the commitment of the Center for International Studies and Cooperation ( CECI) which defends gender equality in African cinema.

The Vues d’Afrique International Film Festival is presented by Quebecor and TV5.
