the program for the 60th edition

The International Agricultural Show celebrates its 60th anniversary from Saturday February 24 to Sunday March 3, at the Porte de Versailles exhibition center in Paris. Map, exhibitors, workshops, photo exhibition… Here is everything you need to know about this 2024 edition.

While agricultural unions maintain pressure on the government, this 60th edition of the SIA is placed under the sign of “transmission” and of “the future“of French agriculture,”between retrospective and prospectivee”. What are the program and practical information to remember for the nine days of the Show?

For this 60th edition, the face of the SIA is called Oreillette. This is a Norman cow, aged 5 years. Raised in Briouze, in Orne, she lives on a farm of 155 hectares of land, with around a hundred other dairy cows. In total, 4,000 animals are present this year, with 378 breeds represented.

Cattle, sheep, pigs… Like every year, the CGA offers a presentation of numerous farm animals.from rigorous selection programs“. Thousands of medals are also awarded for wines and local products. Sauerkraut, salted butter caramel, and non-alcoholic beers are notably entering the general competition.

This is one of the attractions of the Show: 1,100 exhibitors are present for this new edition. Japan, Nigeria, Spain, Kazakhstan… Five continents and 30 countries are represented. In total, the SIA is organized around 3 pavilions from the regions of metropolitan France, four pavilions from the overseas departments and regions, three pavilions from the overseas communities, and 18 international pavilions.

To celebrate its 60th anniversary, the SIA is collaborating with Paris Match by organizing an exhibition in “tribute to the entire agricultural community“from February 24 to March 3 within the exhibition center. The project offers in particular”a selection of emblematic photos taken from the Salon archives“.

Demonstration of dog teams from the Yvelines gendarmerie, simulation of driving agricultural machinery, cheese or candy apple tastings, culinary workshops for children, meat cutting demonstrations, “virtual reality immersion in forestry professions“… All planned activities are listed on the SIA website. New for this edition: the possibility of listening to around twenty audio guides from your phone, “by flashing QR codes located in the aisles“.

During the 2023 edition, the SIA welcomed more than 615,000 visitors – 69% of whom came from Île-de-France. And like every year, the Show remains a political meeting, with 100 official visits planned, notably that of the President of the Republic Emmanuel Macron, and the Minister of Agriculture Marc Fesneau, in a context of agricultural anger.

An interactive map is available on the Show website. The doors of the SIA are open every day from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., from February 24 to March 3.
