The government presents this Wednesday, May 24 its device to restore purchasing power to the French. Concretely, companies with more than 11 employees that make profits over time will have to share with the employees.

For 11 years at the counter of a pharmacy, Michelle Darmon has been a rather loyal employee. The reason ? Dappreciable working conditions, but also a small supplement paid to him by his employer, a bonus on top of his salary. Bonuses are a widespread practice in large companies, but only one in five SMEs pays them to its employees. The boss sees it as a valuable tool to involve them.

Facilitate employee hiring and retention

Soon, SMEs that employ between 11 and 49 employees will no longer have a choice. As soon as they are beneficiaries for three years in a row, they will be obliged to pay a profit-sharing bonus or the former Macron bonus to their employees. “It is one of the motivational tools which can obviously facilitate both hiring and retention,” thinks François Asselin, president of the General Confederation of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (CPME).
