Glasses equipped with a camera and connected to a belt to help the visually impaired, here is the winning invention of the Lépine 2024 competition. Artha France, developed by six creators, allows the visually impaired to perceive reliefs to move around. “This allows all visually impaired and blind people to understand their world, to perceive large shapes and to be able to move more freely”explained Rémi du Chalard, the winner, on the franceinfo set, Saturday May 11.

250 inventions presented in the competition

The young startup plans to democratize its invention in order to help as many people as possible. More than 100 million people worldwide are visually impaired. “Technology is truly useful for people with disabilities as long as it affects everyone”, also confided the inventor. This year, 250 inventions were presented in the Lépine competition.
