The principal of the Notre Dame du Rocher college, in Chambéry, targeted by death threats after the dissemination on the internet of photos showing the injured face of a teenage victim, specifies the prosecution, of a fall within the establishment, announces its intention to file a complaint for “incitement to hatred and violence”, we learned this Monday from his lawyer.

Hundreds of death threats

“The complaint is drafted, I file it Tuesday afternoon with the prosecutor’s office in Chambéry”, indicates to France Bleu Pays de Savoie Pierre Pérez, the lawyer of the principal of this private college. The complaint will be accompanied by a file of “300 documents”, attesting “hate messages, death threats, by phone, and the like”, of which the head of the establishment has been a victim for several days.

In a message posted on the internet, the mother of the teenager assures that her daughter, educated in 6th grade, was the victim of a racist attack, a thesis refuted by the prosecutor of the Republic of Chambéry on Sunday evening. According to the first elements of the investigation, the student, of Cameroonian origin, seriously injured her face by falling, alone, last Wednesday, in the courtyard of the college.

The principal placed under protection

Principal’s lawyer accuses teenager’s mother of posting on social media “the personal address of the head of the establishment”, Moreover deputy mayor of La Ravoire, in Savoy. Knowing the threats he is facing, his client, 46, has since been placed in “under the protection of the gendarmerie, day and night”.

“The teachers of the college have received hundreds of calls of death threats, coming from different countries, and not only from France (…) it is so serious that I file a complaint”, indicates the lawyer. “All these malicious people, who made death threats, who left traces, we are going to hold them accountable, as has been done elsewhere.”

Asked Sunday noon on BFMTV about this case, which has gone viral, the Minister of National Education Jean-Michel Blanquer asked the rector of Grenoble to open an internal investigation.
