The principal of the private Catholic Sasserno high school in Nice was fired after the opening of an investigation for “sexual assault” by the Nice prosecutor’s office, reports France Bleu Azur on Tuesday April 4. In a letter, the diocese of Nice explains its decision to dismiss the headmaster: the “letter of mission was withdrawn from the head of the Sasserno Institution, previously suspended as a precaution”. “Several serious and established facts motivated these decisions”can we also read.

The facts occurred within the establishment

The management specifies that this decision was taken after examination of the results of the extraordinary supervision visit, after hearing the main respondent and after the opinion of the Ogec (the establishment’s management body). It was this organization that terminated the principal’s employment contract.

The Nice prosecutor had been seized after several complaints and reports for acts of “sexual assault” or “attempted sexual assault” and for “sexist insults by a person using his authority”. Facts which, according to the accusations, occurred within the establishment. An investigation was opened last October. For the moment, France Bleu specifies that the prosecution has not yet communicated on this case.

The principal “disputes the facts”

The principal’s lawyer, Philippe Soussi, says to himself “flabbergasted and amazed” by the communication of the Diocese, in a press release. According to him, his client “couldn’t defend himself” And “dispute the facts”. THE “throwing in the public square (…) is an unspeakable indignity”denounces the lawyer who believes that “those who acted in this way take a heavy responsibility”. He adds that his client is “devastated by this situation”and that of “many teachers and staff of the establishment gave him their support”.
