The war in Ukraine continues to weigh on food prices. This is the case of wheat, sunflower oil, but also eggs. The eggs could indeed climb sharply, which worries producers.
The price of eggs increases: up to 7% for the first prizes in a year. On the shelves of supermarkets or in markets, consumers have noticed it. “It’s very annoying if it increases exponentially, because we use eggs all the time”comments a customer. This increase is due to the increase in the price of cereals.
In an organic farm in Parleboscq (moors)the hens spend time outside looking for their food, but that is not enough: they need a food supplement based on barley, soy or wheat, whose world prices have exploded. Today, the organic breeder from Parleboscq sells her box of six organic eggs for two euros. To cope with the increase in food for her hens, she could increase the price by 10 to 20 euro cents. The pastry chef Florence Cailwho uses from eggs everywhere, will therefore be forced to increase its prices in turn.
