The prestigious Bentley brand goes electric

The replacement of Kadjar is revealed little by little. The diamond brand has chosen to communicate on the interior of this family SUV. The inspiration is the same as on board the new electric Mégane. In any case, Renault will offer a sleek dashboard with large L-shaped screens around the steering wheel, which is square-shaped. The dashboard/multimedia screen assembly will reach a size of 24.3 inches. A very large surface for vehicles, and what is more from a French manufacturer. The Austral will benefit from Google services, including a voice assistant, Google Maps and Android auto. Renault promises that 90% of the functions will be accessible in 2 clicks on the screen. The Open R Link system, which also equips the electric Mégane, will be as intuitive as a smartphone.

Volvo is changing several models

The electric C40 is now available with a single electric motor instead of 2. A 231 hp version which will already do the trick, instead of the 408 hp of the twin version with two electric motors. The brand is also changing the design of the XC40, both for the combustion engine versions and for the electric version. The SUV recovers in passing the LED lights with pixel technology from the C40. And then the V60 is offered a minor facelift. And it in turn embeds a multimedia system with Google services, for a period of 1 to 4 years in terms of data depending on the level of finish.

Bentley accelerates in the electric

It should be remembered that the brand of British origin, which belongs to Volkswagen, will abandon the thermal engine in 2030. The first battery-powered model will be released in 2025. And from that date, there will be one more per year. Bentley has planned to release 5 electric models by the end of the decade. A plan that will require an investment of 3 billion euros. The CO2 footprint will also drop in the factory with solar panels that will produce renewable electricity. In the meantime, the electrification of the existing range continues with the arrival of the plug-in hybrid version of the Flying Spur, which complements that of the Bentayga SUV.

And then Porsche is preparing a 911 capable of off-roading

The version will be called Safari. It will be raised and will allow riding off the beaten track. A 911 Safari was already released in 1978, at a time when the brand shone in rally-raid. Porsche had already presented a concept car in 2012, revisiting this model. If the project is confirmed, the Safari variant would be added to an already more than substantial 911 range, between the Carrera, S and GTS models with two or four-wheel drive in coupé, cabriolet or Targa, the radical GT3 available in Touring, or the Turbo and Turbo S.
