Future government: the presidential camp sets its conditions regarding its participation

While Prime Minister Michel Barnier has promised a government for the end of the week, it seems that it is more complicated than expected. Journalist Guillaume Daret gave his analysis on the set of the 20 Heures, Tuesday, September 17.
“We do not yet have clear visibility on the political line – in particular on possible tax increases – and on the major government balances”declared Gabriel Attal in a message to his parliamentary group. “It is only on condition that they obtain answers on these two points deemed essential that the deputies close to Gabriel Attal will decide whether or not to participate in the government.”adds journalist Guillaume Daret. Behind the scenes, the words are even harsher towards the new Prime Minister.
A real struggle for influence is taking place. “Gabriel Attal’s close associates feel that LR, with only 47 deputies, is holding up the government”indicates Guillaume Daret. Nevertheless, he specifies that “Matignon has just announced that Michel Barnier will very soon meet Gabriel Attal again and that he will respect all sensitivities”.
