(Montreal) The president of the youth wing of the Liberal Party of Quebec (PLQ), Élyse Moisan, resigned from her position Saturday morning.
In a press release published on the social network She cited “recent changes in the professional and personal spheres” of her life.
Radio-Canada announced the news earlier.
Mme Moisan filed a complaint for psychological harassment last October against Liberal MP Frédérique Beauchemin and three of her employees. This complaint led to the exclusion of Mr. Beauchemin from the Liberal caucus. He was able to rejoin the caucus in December, after Mr.me Moisan withdrew his complaint.
The member for Marguerite-Bourgeois expressed his intention last year to enter the race for the leadership of the PLQ.
This is the second president of the youth wing of the PLQ to relinquish her functions in less than a year. She took over the helm of the political organization on 1er September 2023, after the resignation of his predecessor, Laurence Lefebvre, who held these functions for 6 months.
Mme Moisan said he wanted to “ensure an adequate transition”.
