“No failure” for the majority. The decision of the Constitutional Council to widely censor the immigration law “is definitely not” a failure for the presidential majority, argued Yaël Braun-Pivet, the president of the National Assembly, at the microphone of France Bleu.
An “indelible stain” for the left. The Constitutional Council’s scissors were greeted with “satisfaction” on the left of the political spectrum, even if “the government will bear the call to vote as an indelible stain” the text, reacted the socialist Olivier Faure.
A rapid promulgation to come. Emmanuel Macron asked Gérald Darmanin to “do everything possible to ensure that the law is applied as quickly as possible”. The Head of State will promulgate the text “in the coming hours”, announced the Minister of the Interior on TF1.
