Emmanuel Macron intends to speak on the latest events related to the pension reform, Monday at 8 p.m., the Elysee Palace told franceinfo, while protests and criticism follow one another after the promulgation of the law on pensions by the President of the Republic.
Opposition elected officials and unions have denounced “contempt”even “rough behavior” on the part of the Head of State who decided to promulgate the law on pensions on the night of Friday 14 to Saturday 15 April, after the partial validation of the text by the Constitutional Council. After having already spoken at the end of March to justify this pension reform, Emmanuel Macron is therefore planning a speech on the evening of Monday April 17, to explain himself again to the French.

A few hours before the decision of the Constitutional Council, he had offered to receive the trade unions and employers’ organizations on Tuesday April 18. Unions still standing against this reform, they called for a new demonstration of magnitude on May 1st. “The CFDT confirms, like all the trade unions, that we will not go to the Élysée on Tuesday”recalled Yvan Ricordeau, national secretary of the first union in France.
