The President of the National Assembly will visit Ukraine next week with deputies

The President of the National Assembly, Yaël Braun-Pivet, is going to Poland and Ukraine next week, accompanied by a delegation of deputies, with the program of women’s rights and field visits, her entourage announced on Saturday. September 24. She had talked about this trip a few weeks ago to “show the unwavering support of France”while the parliamentary session will resume on October 3 at the Palais Bourbon with a debate on the war in Ukraine and its consequences in France.

The holder of the perch will find the president of the Rada (Ukrainian parliament) Rouslan Stefantchouk, seen recently in Berlin, and will go to the field. In Poland, she will notably go to a shelter for Ukrainian refugees and meet with an association defending women, on the subjects of abortion and the consequences of the war.

For this trip, Braun-Pivet (Renaissance) will be accompanied by the socialist Valérie Rabault, vice-president of the Assembly, as well as the presidents of the committees for Defense Thomas Gassiloud, Foreign Affairs Jean-Louis Bourlanges, European Affairs Pieyre -Alexandre Anglade, as well as the deputy of the French in the area, Anne Genetet, all four members of the presidential majority.

Senate President Gérard Larcher (LR) visited Ukraine in early July, where he met President Volodymyr Zelensky and pleaded before the Ukrainian Parliament for the country to obtain “without delay the concrete fruits” of its status as a candidate for the European Union.
