France showed “a handsome face”, says Édouard Philippe, mayor of Le Havre, on franceinfo this Monday, who participated in the march against anti-Semitism, Sunday November 12. He says to himself “happy” of the'”atmosphere“in which this demonstration took place:”Calm, sobriety, seriousness“.

Asked about the presence of far-right elected officials, the former Prime Minister indicated that the presence of Marine Le Pen at the march against anti-Semitism on Sunday posed “no problem” to him. “If we say that the fight against anti-Semitism is an essential fight […] in this case, we do not choose those who fight this fight with you“, he adds, recalling that he has “no tenderness“for the RN and that it remains”a political opponent“.

More than 100,000 people marched on Sunday in Paris and tens of thousands of others throughout France for the “great march” against anti-Semitism, in the presence of a good part of the political class, but without the leader of the State nor La France Insoumise. In total, the Ministry of the Interior counted 182,000 participants at the end of the day, including the capital, in more than 70 cities. The day after this march, President Emmanuel Macron is due to receive representatives of religions at the Élysée, Monday November 13.
