The Girondins will not drink in the middle of the street during New Year’s Eve. In front of “increasing viral circulation”, Fabienne Buccio, the prefect of the Gironde, indicates this Monday to have taken a decree prohibiting the consumption of food and alcoholic beverages on public roads in the Gironde department for the evening and New Year’s Eve.
The prefectural decree will be in force from December 31 at 6:00 p.m. and until January 1, 2022 at 8:00 a.m..
Authorities take this step “in order to avoid regroupings incompatible with the respect of barrier gestures”, and ensure that the “Failure to comply with this prohibition will result in a fine.”
The prefect of the Gironde also calls for “the vigilance and civic-mindedness of all to curb the circulation of the virus“.
