For two weeks, the covid-19 epidemic has been decreasing in Martinique. It is on the strength of this observation that the prefect decides to lift the curfew from April 1. The measure has been in effect since July 13, 2021. The lifting of the state of emergency is effective as of March 31, 2022.

The prefect of Martinique notes a marked improvement in the health situation in Martinique. The latest figures bear this out.
In accordance with his commitments and after the usual consultations in particular with the representatives of the economic and political world, he announces the lifting of the curfew in Martinique from the end of this week (Friday April 1, 2022).
Wearing a mask will be strongly recommended in all enclosed places and places where people are concentrated, and no longer compulsory. However, it will remain mandatory in public transport, in health establishments and for contact cases.
The health pass will be suspended. It will no longer be required in public buildings (restaurants, sports halls, cinemas, etc.) except for health establishments and medico-social establishments (excluding emergencies).
Regarding business activities :
➢ Abolition of the 8m² gauge per person in stores;
➢ Abolition of the compulsory seat for catering and shows
➢ Abolition of the ban on the consumption of drinks or food in shopping malls;
➢ Reopening of nightclubs.
Regarding recreational activities and water sports :
➢ Abolition of the rule of 6 people maximum per boat;
➢ Abolition of the ban on coupling boats.
The vaccination obligation remains in force for the personnel concerned (health, medico-social, firefighters, military, etc.). In mid-March, the personnel concerned were 87% compliant according to the ARS (Regional Health Agency) and this rate continues to increase.
In the educational institutionsthe level 2 protocol (face-to-face lessons with the wearing of a mask) is maintained until the Easter school holidays.
Due to a very sharp increase in contaminations and deaths in hospital, on July 12, 2021, the President of the Republic Emmanuel Macron, announced the establishment of the state of health emergency and the next day (July 13, 2021), thee prefect confirms a curfew from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m..
After 6 weeks of strict confinement, the prefect of Martinique relaxes traffic and curfew rules in mid-September. Irestaurants can ropen their doors from September 22, 2021 with the obligation to present the health pass.
On November 8, 2021, the curfew in force since August has been postponed to 8 p.m. For sports, cultural, leisure and catering activities, it will be until 10 p.m., with a derogatory travel certificate.
End of November 2021, social movements, violence and blockades paralyze Martinique and push the prefect to bring forward the curfew to 7 p.m. On December 8, 2021, it is postponed to 8 p.m. (with the exception of Christmas Eve night).
On February 18, 2022, the curfew is postponed to 10 p.m.
