The PQ wants to take back its former stronghold of Taschereau

The announced departure of MNA Catherine Dorion, from Québec solidaire (QS), in Taschereau shuffles the cards: the Parti Québécois (PQ) intends to regain its former stronghold in the general elections in October.

PQ leader Paul St-Pierre Plamondon officially presented his candidate, Jeanne Robin, on Wednesday.

Principal director of the organization Vivre en ville, her profile is strangely similar to a candidate for the nomination of QS in Taschereau, Étienne Grandmont.

The latter is the director of the organization Accès transports viables, committed to public transport, while Ms. Robin is employed by Vivre en ville, a consulting organization on urban planning and public transport in particular.

Taschereau was considered a PQ stronghold before 2018. The riding was long represented by MP and Minister Agnès Maltais, who retired in 2018.
