(Quebec) Opposed to the third link of the CAQ, the Parti Québécois in turn unveils its alternative to tackle the issue of inter-river mobility: create a light rail line between Quebec and Lévis.

The Parti Québécois was to date the only party to have not yet revealed the details of its solution to increase mobility in the greater Capitale-Nationale and Chaudière-Appalaches region. Chief Paul St-Pierre Plamondon made his announcement Friday flanked by his team of candidates from the region.
If it takes power, the PQ would create a light rail line from downtown to downtown, between Quebec and Lévis. The route would also connect the Lebourgneuf, Vanier, Saint-Roch, ExpoCité and Parliament Hill sectors in Quebec City to the Desjardins sector in Lévis. The new public transit line would be 15 kilometers long. It is an under-river link that would connect the two shores.
According to the Parti Québécois, its proposal connects five “major” regional hubs for which the public transport offer “must be improved” and will “connect perfectly” to the tramway project, under construction in Quebec.
The CAQ has promised to build a highway tunnel at a cost of 6.5 billion which must rely on “dynamic management” leaving a lane for public transport during rush hours. The Liberal Party of Quebec promises to extend the tramway project in Quebec to the South Shore. Québec solidaire revealed this week that it wanted to establish a rapid bus service (SRB) “from downtown Lévis to western Québec, via the Québec bridge”.
Éric Duhaime’s Conservative Party is proposing a highway that would cross part of Île d’Orléans to connect to a new bridge to Lévis. His project is estimated at 3 billion.
