Québec solidaire (QS) garners 12% of provincial voting intentions, 6 percentage points less than last March, according to a Léger-Québecor survey conducted from May 10 to 13.
This decline comes as the party faces an internal crisis after co-spokeswoman Émilise Lessard-Therrien resigned last month.
QS had 18% of voting intentions two months ago, according to another survey by the Léger firm, before dropping to 14% at the end of April, according to the Léger survey which followed.
These would be QS’s weakest voting intentions since February 2022, according to the Quebec Journal. The party is now neck and neck with the Conservative Party of Quebec, also at 12%, according to the most recent Léger-Québecor poll.
The Parti Québécois has fallen by two percentage points compared to April, but remains well ahead with 32% of voting intentions, 10 points ahead of the Coalition Avenir Québec, which is at 22%. The Liberal Party of Quebec received 17% of voting intentions.
Léger-Québecor surveyed 1,031 Quebecers aged 18 or over. The maximum margin of error for a sample of 1031 respondents is ± 3.05%, 19 times out of 20.
