The feature film Dune by Denis Villeneuve is one of ten films selected for the American Film Institute’s annual list of awards, better known as the AFI Awards.
Jane Campion’s most recent feature film, The Power of the Dog of which Roger Frappier (Max Films) is one of the producers, is also part of this prestigious list.
The AFI Awards salute the cultural and artistic qualities of the films of the last year considered to be the most significant achievements in cinema.
In addition to the two works named above, the jury includes the films King richard, Coda (American adaptation of The Aries family), Don’t Look Up, Licorice Pizza, Nightmare alley, Tick, Tick… Boom! The Tragedy of Macbeth and West Side Story.
Prizes are also awarded for excellence in television series and some works of high quality, but whose criteria do not correspond to those defined by the organization.
All recipients are expected on January 7, 2022 for a gala evening at The Four Seasons hotel in Beverly Hills.
